Why This Reference Exists
Schertz records are unusually dispersed because city limits cross Guadalupe, Bexar, and Comal counties. The parcel county controls many property, deed, tax, court, and election routes. Guadalupe County has a Schertz satellite clerk office, while the better documented historical directory collections are regional holdings at San Antonio Public Library and the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society. The purpose here is to make those differences clear before a search begins.
What the Directory Provides
- Pages by question: the street directory for address-keyed records, the directory book for historical shelves, and the resident lookup for a one-person verification trail
- Named custodians: appraisal districts, county clerks, elections offices, court clerks, vital-record offices, and library collections
- Practical methods: ways to compare a parcel, a recorded document, a directory entry, and a date without treating them as the same record
- Access limits: Texas Public Information Act request paths, restricted records, and the need to verify with the custodian
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference, not a Schertz office, a Guadalupe, Bexar, or Comal department, a Texas agency, court, or library. Its limits are straightforward:
- We cannot verify that a particular person currently lives in Schertz
- We cannot obtain, certify, amend, or erase a custodian’s record
- We cannot add names to or remove names from a government roll or database
- We do not provide legal advice about a filing, boundary, or dispute
- We cannot guarantee that every link, date range, or office procedure remains current
Only the office that holds a record can confirm, certify, or correct it. This reference is not a consumer reporting agency and cannot be used for FCRA-regulated decisions.
